Book Review: FireFly Lane

Wow! Loved it! I fear sharing too much because I do not want to give away the ending. This is a book about two friends and their relationship that lasts over 30 years. The girls meet in middle school and though they select different paths for their lives, their friendship continues through all their experiences. I just discovered when reading my recent issue of THE TRIDENT that the author, Kristin Hannah is a Delta Delta Delta alum! No wonder I loved it!

I took this directly from Kristin Hannah's website, "In the turbulent summer of 1974, Kate Mularkey has accepted her place at the bottom of the eighth-grade social food chain. Then, to her amazement, the "coolest girl in the world" moves in across the street and wants to be her friend. Tully Hart seems to have it all---beauty, brains, ambition. On the surface they are as opposite as two people can be: Kate, doomed to be forever uncool, with a loving family who mortifies her at every turn. Tully, steeped in glamour and mystery, but with a secret that is destroying her. They make a pact to be best friends forever; by summer’s end they’ve become TullyandKate. Inseparable."

I see she has another book, True Colors which I am excited to read.
I highly recommend that you pick it up this summer and enjoy a refreshing journey through friendship and time.

I saw this book at Borders and considered buying it. I am always hesitant to buy books that I have not read or that have not been recommended to me. Now, on your recommendation, I can feel confident about my choice!
