Family Vacation Pt 3

The day wouldnt be complete without some face painting. She picked a caterpillar that was multiple dots across her cheeks and nose!

Cheering on our turtles

One fun thing we enjoyed was the Turtle Races at Nisswa. (Notice the buttons on her shirt and his sling) For just $4 we were able to rent a turtle and race it in the bullseye shaped racetrack. Each contestant selected a turtle in the center, set it down, and splashed some water to encourage the turtle to go to the outer circle. I am kind of thankful ours did not win because then we would have needed to wait for the final heats! It was a lot of fun but it was a hot day. Over 400 buttons were purchased that day... on a Wednesday in a town of 2087! We would recommend that to anyone!

While Daddy worked on his sermon for Sunday we went to a teddy bear party (we decorated a shirt for a teddy beard) and we also went to the park to play. Of course she went straight for the sand.

We also went to the zoo south of Brainerd.

Our first time miniature golfing proved to be a good situation. I even got a hole in one- otherwise A. and I didn't keep score. It took a little time for her to understand how to hit the ball, but I was VERY impressed that she never became overly frustrated if she wasn't getting the ball in the hole. We will definitely have to do that again sometime.

Another fun aspect of our vacation was the Cowgirl/Cowboy party. For $5, A. was able to decorate her own picture frame, participate in pony races (with the pony heads on a stick), and she was given a stick pony. It was fun to meet other children at the resort.
