Oostburg Lady Flying Dutch Basketball are going to State!
Tonight we drove to West Bend to watch our girls win regionals! The first half was pretty uneventful as we were well ahead the whole way. The second half became a little more intense (and also challenging considering A. can only stay content in the stands for so long...) A lot of the kids had these WE BELIEVE signs and as I reached in my purse to take an adorable picture of her and her friends, I discovered my camera batteries were dead. Hopefully this picture taken later at home will suffice!

Now that they won state, we don't have school on Thursday (you see, when the school is this size, and 2/3 of the students go, they just have a big day-long study hall for those who choose to stay, and a long bus ride for any teacher or student who chooses to go. With the game starting at 9am in Madison (2.5 hours away) I will have a hard time deciding what to do!) Last year our girls were division state champs- but we were not expected to get this far after last year graduating 4 starting seniors! I am so proud of our girls and our brand new coach and asst coach who are teaching their first year of school! Way to go girls and coaches!

Our day began with 4 people painting the youth room. Originally it was a light pink/mauve color (the whole new addition is this odd and cheap color!) Thankfully, people are ready for a change. An awesome interior designer who attends our church is helping us with the remodeling project. Today we worked on painting one wall the dark chocolate brown and the other walls a tan-yellow color. On the chocolate wall we will have our logo in 3D and on the wall opposite it we will have BLAST and what it stands for.
due to the increasing numbers, we will now have stadium seating in the room. These risers will eventually get carpeted. We are hoping all of this is done by Mar 15. We have some work to go- but its looking good!!! I was so disappointed that I did not have before pictures!!! What was I thinking??
