It seems hard to believe that just a week ago my sister and I were chatting online about the following weekend. We were hoping that she and the girls would come visit us in WI while her husband was out of town, but with the long drive, the early darkness, and having to wait until school gets out on Friday, it just didnt seem sensible for her to make the 5+ hour drive from MN. Then we got an idea... let's meet in the middle! Lucky for us the middle is the famous WISCONSIN DELLS! What better way to spend part of a February weekend than at an indoor water park? After a bit of research we decided to stay at the Wintergreen Resort again (we stayed there last year for our January Monroe Family Christmas). The hotel rooms are decently priced- and include free passes to Mt. Olympus- which even in the winter boasts of an indoor water park and indoor theme park. We thought we could save a little money and share a room too. Andy was unable to come with us because he had a Men's Conference on Saturday and Mike was at a Gaming Event in the Twin Cities. So it was just the girls- 2 moms and 3 daughters (and a baby boy in the tummy!)

The girls were well behaved in the car, listened well and had fun playing together at the parks, and seemed to enjoy staying in the hotel room together too. Our time was short since we arrived around 6pm Friday and left around 3pm Saturday- but the kids were exhausted and the moms were pretty tired too. I was proud of how much braver the girls were since last year. The slides weren't quite so intimidating after all! It brings me so much joy to watch my daughter interact with her cousins. I was lucky enough to have cousins close in age that I was able to play with when I was young and I am thankful the girls have a great time together too. Thankfully we weren't together long enough for them to become too irritated with each other! I am guessing the next time we will get together is after our son is born. My youngest niece was kind enough to suggest that we name him Lucky. She told me when she gets older and has kids, she will name her son Lucky. Lucky him! :)
