A REALLY big bed!

(I asked her to stand next to it so we could see how tall she is!)
Thanks to blogging, I just looked up that November 12 was the night A. moved from the crib to a toddler bed. Eight months later she is in an official twin bed! We probably would have kept her in the toddler bed a bit longer because she was happy with it, but we were borrowing it from friends and they moved away. We were very sad they moved because the two girls were great friends with A. and as parents we enjoyed being together too. It was great having another youth pastor's wife to talk to who understands all the joys of the job! We did buy the twin bedframe from them as well as a picnic table so it will be nice that whenever we use or look at them we will think of our great friends who moved to Michigan.
I enjoyed using the skills I learned in 4H to stain and varnish the bed. It didnt need much but I was amazed at how beautiful the wood is. I did not realize how stressful it would be to pick out a mattress but we eventually decided on one which will hopefully last her at least until high school. We bought her the comforter as a Christmas present this past year and Grandma and Grandpa Baker helped us buy the mattress for her birthday! Thanks! Its amazing how much space a twin bed takes up in a room after getting used to a toddler bed size!

(I did lay the crib mattress on the floor next to the bed. I know others buy rails but she naps on big beds at daycare so I think she should be fine. I'll be curious what the covers look like in the morning because she isn't used to being so tucked in! )
