Remembering Grandma Doris

The past five months we were fortunate enough to be able to make two trips to Iowa. We traveled in August and again in November the weekend before THanksgiving. It is always great to see family but we were especially going to spend quality time with Andy's Grandma Doris. Both trips were a lot of fun and we enjoyed not only spending time with her but we also enjoyed knowing that Grandma could get to know A. and A. could have memories with her Great-Grandma. Below are some pictures from our trip in August (I didn't have my camera for the Nov trip).

This picture is dark. I tried to lighten it but was unable to.Here is a picture with Grandma and 2 of her four daughters. (Andy's mom is on the right)

You can see how comfortable A. is with Great-Grandma Doris!
Here is A. reaching up to give her Great-Grandma a kiss and hug.
A. loves her Great-Grandma.

Tuesday we will be flying to Iowa- this time to attend Andy's Grandma's funeral. We are grateful for the time we had with her. I am not sure how much a 2.5 year old can understand. We have been talking with her about this and hope to let her know that though sometimes Mommy and Daddy are sad or crying, we are happy that "Nana" is in heaven and that this something to be happy about. It sounds that the weather will be awful in Iowa and we just pray for safe travels there and back.
