Tonight as the kids and I were eating dinner, I decided to "interview" them about their plans for the future. Again, I think this will be fun to look at years from now- but Im not promising this to be all that entertaining for my current readers.
Quick update on where they are in life.
D. is not quite 3. He has gone over a whole week wearing undies (even to bed) and keeping them consistently dry. We are super proud of this accomplishment! Sentimentally, I am kind of sad to see the cloth diapers come to an end (I know- what kind of mother AM I? But cd'ing saved us so much money over the past 22 months and I am glad we went that route.) He was still wearing them for naps but I think we are done with that and I will wash the diapers for the final time this week. He has a lot to say, but his new phrase that makes me laugh is, "oh- I see what the problem is" He also likes to say "Now Mommy?" for a multitude of reasons. He loves to play with his cars and if he asks me, "Mommy- you pay with me now?" its hard to say no. D. loves the iPad- loves to watch his shows on Netflix or play angry birds, some garage band thing, or color pictures on it. He adores his big sister (most of the time) and wants to do everything she does. He likes to play kitty- often meowing and cuddling up (sometimes even licking my face...) When I try to meow back he always says, "No, Mommy- Im the kitty, not you!" Tonight as we walked to pick up Sister from church he was humming a song. I have never heard him hum such a long song before and I really enjoyed his musical creation. He brings us a lot of joy.
A. is now 6 and a half. She is in kindergarten and seems to like specials (music and art) and recess the best! She has gotten through the kindergarten sight words and is picking up books and reading to herself, her brother, and others. She is a busy girl with gymnastics and a church group every week, and girls church group (GEMS) twice a month. She seems to love being involved in these things. A. loves to create things- which is why so many of her Christmas presents this year involved making things (painting, making your own bracelets, headbands, fashion designing templates/stencils...) She is constantly coloring/cutting/creating some sort of project to give to others and our house often has remnants of these projects. She LOVES to make and give- even using her first tooth fairy money to give her cousin a present. She still misses her friends from Wisconsin but is making new friendships here. She enjoys making up dances to songs and also likes to sing. She loves to help and be responsible and surprise us with tasks completed. I love seeing how she cares for her brother and its obvious why he adores her. She brings so much light into our home.
