Fall Fun 2012

We have enjoyed a warm Iowa fall this year.  We had multiple October days that it felt like record highs!  One weekend, D. and I went with A. to her church hayride.  It was fun helping, going on a hayride, eating smores, and playing with friends!

I just think this picture of Iowa I took while on the hayride is so beautiful!
 D. seems to be mastering the idea of how to Conquer a S'More!

Then- the next weekend, instead of 70s on 5pm we experienced 50s.  I had to dig in the boxes in the basement for A's winter coat and their hats and mittens!  Our church invited us to the Family Fun Day at a local greenhouse.  We enjoyed a corn maze, "train ride", big slide, apple slingshot and corn cob shooter, and again some SMores.  It was SO cold- but we had a lot of fun!

Then- when it warmed up a little on Monday, I took the kids to a local abandoned college campus.  (Okay- maybe abandoned isnt the correct word- but its not used as a college anymore!)  The gymnasium is used for A.'s gymnastics so I knew it was property filled with trees and leaves- left undisturbed!
The kids and I had a lot of fun taking pictures.  I did bribe D. with graham crackers but I think it was worth it.  Our children seem to have their own sense of style and enjoyed creating many of their own poses and A. even edited some of the pictures when we got home!  Proudly, I actually ordered some pictures online and already have them displayed in my classroom!

next up- Halloween...   :)  Happy Fall!
