Cloth Diapering... (cd-ing)
When point-blank asked "Why would you want to do THAT? I suppose I didnt have the perfect answer. Some of my friends have cloth diapered their children. I saw how cute they were. I saw how advanced they have come in the days of diapers I wore. I saw it as a financial savings. I saw it as a way to provide for my child. I saw it as a way to help the landfills (and my stinky garbage bags that only get picked up every two weeks!!!) Since before my son was born, I have been curious about cloth diapers. I have read reviews, looked at websites, read blogs... but for fear of what others would think, I decided not to do it. Without the support of those around me, I just didnt know if I really wanted to take the big financial step of committing to cloth diapers. Being a math person, I wanted to calculate how many times I would need to use a single cloth diaper to make it equal out the cost of a disposable one. (about 40-70 times depending on the style and type)
My son, D is almost 15 months old. I still couldn't get the question out of my mind, "Could I cloth diaper my child?" Could I- and would I like it??) I have known about this awesome website/store for over a year and I finally found time in my summer to commit. The website: Jillian's Drawers: http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/
They are kind enough to offer a 21 day trial period to try a variety of their new diapers. If you decide it isn't for you... you ship them all back and it only costs you $10! (Click here for the offer)
Soon I will let you know how each day has gone... (maybe too much detail for some, but I really want to encourage others to check it out. I know some blogs do reviews as income on the side- I assure you my blog does not have a large audience and this is just for my benefit and my blog friends!!!)

Hey! I also switched over to cloth when Amelia was 6 months old. I thought it would be way more complicated than it is, which is why I didn't start her on cloth to begin with. A friend here shared all the ins and outs with me, and I became convinced of the benefits! So far, my favorites are Fuzzibunz and Bummis. And those flushable liners sure do make life easier!
