Today Daddy went to the Cub's game in Chicago with a friend. D., A., and Mommy enjoyed a trip to Costco. We love the cheap lunch and the SAMPLES! The last time I was there I had noticed some outdoor rugs. These rugs could be hosed off occasionally, vacuumed, or swept. They were 6ft by 9 ft and came in green, brown, or grey. Immediately I thought of our back deck. We love spending time outside- but the deck floor can give them occasional splinters and is not a welcoming space. We really dont use it as much as I would like. I had done some research online and found that Costco really had the best deal. I love the brown rug because I hope it will hide the dirt- AND it blends in with the deck floor. It was a bit cold to spend much time- and we had to shovel off some of the remaining ice and snow- but we had fun for awhile this afternoon!

Here is Da Boy- enjoying the carpet on our deck (after successfully removing his hat!)

Here is Our Girl- showing her official smile when I say, "Kay, Smile, A."

Here is the rug- already the "living room" is decked out with A.'s toys.
I havent figured out how to keep the rug down. I have it kept down with the picnic table benches and the flowerpot. Any suggestions- can I nail it down???

We have enough room for one more 6ftx9ft rug- I hope we can get it soon! I figure we can move the picnic table and eat on the deck. We rarely ate on the table when it was on the patio downstairs.

This is our view from our kitchen/living room. Note that we even have a gate to prevent D. from going down the back stairs. I envision many days this summer with the screen door separating the kids playing together outside and me in the kitchen working on the dishes or making dinner.
Spring- WARM UP! Summer- We're ready for you!!!
