Enjoying The Lake

One of the greatest parts of having children is seeing the love between the siblings. I hope this relationship strengthens and does not experience any long-standing grudges. I am thankful for the friendship my sister and I share.

We have a pic just like this with Daddy and A. at the ocean- but A. was about seven months older in the picture.

I wonder how many years I have to live in Wisconsin before Lake Michigan becomes no big deal. My students do not seem impressed with it. I am amazed at how unexciting it is to have the lake in their back yards! The other night we decided to go check out another state park in the area. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Though it did not remind us as much of the Atlantic Ocean, it was definitely a place we hope to return to often with the kids. We were also amazed the water was actually "not cold." I refuse to say it was warm, but it seemed to be a little more comfortable when we put our feet in. Perhaps before fall we can find some time and actually take a dip. Thankfully, A. seems content to hang out on the sand and D. isnt so sure of it. Hard to believe that next summer he will be toddling around the beaches. We got to the beach around 630 pm and by then the moon was already out. By the time we left it was getting dark- but the pictures make it appear darker still. The pictures were posted in opposite order as I always forget that when I am posting them.
Summer is truly almost over as school starts in just four days. We are looking forward to seeing the grandparents (Andy's parents) in less than a week for a short half-way visit. They will be shocked by how much the kids have changed- even though it has only been 6 weeks since they have seen D. Our 4 year and 4 month dr appoint is Monday (shots for both) so wish be thinking of me around 330pm!
