Easter Celebration

Today we celebrate the risen Christ. Easter has always been my favorite Sunday at church. This year was especially exceptional as we anxiously anticipate the arrival of our son. Easter Sunrise service went smoothly. Andy gave a nice message (though he teased about my lack of keeping the car off empty) and a youth was the worship leader- playing his guitar and leading the songs. The service was followed by breakfast (which I volunteered to be in charge of). We had about 20 more people then we planned for (110 total) but there was more than enough food. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and hopefully gained some new insight on Easter. Andy was able to give the announcements this morning but otherwise join us in the pew for the service. It is a wonderful feeling having my husband on my right, my daughter on my left, and my son in my tummy.

Our precious daughter on Easter morning surrounded by the many flowers.
After church we came home for an Easter Egg Hunt. I don't think we will worry about the Easter bunny coming to our house, but we can still enjoy with her the excitement of hunting for eggs.

I love this picture (above). The basket was overflowing with eggs and A. needed some help as she searched for more eggs.
Here she is checking out her findings!

After the hunt, we were invited to our neighbor's for lunch. These amazing neighbors are the people who we lived with when we first moved to town. It is wonderful that even when we don't have family in town, we can still feel part of a family- with kids for A. to play with and adult friends for us to talk with. I was really hoping for a nap after lunch but instead just get this brief moment to blog and relax. Tomorrow I return to school for a few more days or weeks.
Happy Easter!

Glad you had a great weekend. Last year you were not able to help with the sunrise breakfast! Pretty Pics!

Thanks so much, Andrea, for the tips about cleaning products! And I'm so glad you like how I hung the pictures--it was definitely the hardest part!
