Basic Training

Early June (before I was out of school for the summer!), our oldest son left for Basic Training.  He has been preparing for this mentally and physically for months with running, sit-ups, push-ups (including with D. sitting on his back while he did the push-ups).  It was finally time for his adventure to begin.  T. has lived with us for three months so the idea of having the house without him seemed like such a strange idea.  In such a short amount of time he certainly has become part of our family.  Andy was able to drive him to where he needed to be before flying south.  We were happy to hear from him when he arrived safely.  He called us on Father's Day and a few other days.  We finally got his address this past weekend.  If you are interested in sending him a letter that would be great!!!  Let me know and I can get you his address.  Andy will be able to attend his graduation from Basic in August.  I'll be back at school by then and unable to go.  We miss him and we are ready for him to come home- but we are so proud of him and how is is growing to be a fine young man.

Our three kids- the night before he left.

 Proud of our boy!
I like these pics- look at that smile I sort of get in the picture with me!  :)
