New Addition- a teenager

Lately when I have spoken on the phone with friends who live far away I have said the following, "First of all, I am not pregnant- but I am now the mother of three."  This is usually followed by some sort of HUH or WHAT or silence until I fill them in.

Given that my newest son is a teenager, I will not go into great details on here.  The jist is, he's a kid who had circumstances that caused him to need a family and a place to live- and we decided to have our home become his.  It has been two weeks now of transitioning.  Considering Ive worked with high school aged kids for 11 years and my husband has for over 7 years, Id say we are doing pretty good.  Our oldest son is respectful, appreciative, and being a great kid for us.  Its crazy to think that we just met him four months ago- and yet as I watched him today singing in church in our pew and sitting next to our daughter, my heart felt full.  Our younger children really like him and because he has younger siblings himself, he seems to enjoy being a big brother figure to him.

My big journey lately is overcoming fear and being willing to trust in what God has planned for me.  I never imagined that God would ask Andy and I to bring a kid into our home.  I remember being a little apprehensive about the idea.  Yet, as we took this leap of faith, God has stood with us.  Im beginning to wonder if God is ever so gently speaking to my heart and saying, "See honey- you can trust me.  I will provide for your needs.  I will direct your paths where you are called.  Trust in me and I will lead you."

Continue to pray for our family of 5 on this exciting adventure.

I have all kinds of goosebumps reading this. I love that your family was able to say yes to this and how it sounds like it's blessing you all!
