The past two Sundays we have spent our afternoons riding a bike as a family. We have an amazing trail here in town and it was fun to ride together.
After riding under a tunnel under a road we were surprised to see some deer along the trail.I adore this picture above- a nice time together with Daddy and Daughter.
One reason we enjoyed our ride (and could convince the youngest one to keep going, was to promise him the view of horses. We saw four different horses along the ride and the children had fun naming them themselves. Here the black one was named Brownie and the brown one was named Butterscotch. The second set were named by the kiddos, "Caramel and Reeces Pieces" :)
D. enjoys riding with me along the trail. When he gets too tired he simply stops peddling!
This is the bridge we promised our girl she could get to- It was further than I thought and it was certainly a difficult ride home. We figured out that our girl rode 5.5 miles that day- on a bike without gears. We were certainly impressed!
After quite the ride we felt it was time to invest in a better bike for A. We found this bike on Craigslist and it has 6 gears. The following Sunday we rode the same path and we were pleased to find how much more enjoyable the ride was for her. I was so proud of her!
