A. was certainly ready for kindergarten today. She picked out her own outfit, convinced Mom to get the awesome twinkle toe light up sparkly shoes, and is sporting her LL Bean backpack from last year.
I just asked her now if she was nervous at all today and she said, "none." I think this is because she attended Jr. Kindergarten last year 4 mornings a week. She is used to a classroom, used to recess, and even comfortable riding a bus.
Thankfully my principal was kind enough to let me arrive about 10 minutes late to work today so I could enjoy the experience of seeing her get on the school bus! (A tear.. okay, a few more than one... rolled down my cheek once I got back to the car. There is something about your kid entering kindergarten!)
D. stood with us as we waited for the bus. He insisted that he attend school today too.
I dont think she knew I was taking this pic- and look how big that smile is as the line was moving on the bus.
She had a wonderful day. When I asked her about it she said it was, "Awesome. Just awesome!" I am thankful my child has a teacher who seems incredible and is enjoying school!!
PS- since my last blog in July we have moved to Iowa... so she has a new school, D. has a new daycare, I have a new school, and Andy has a new church. Please pray for us as we transition in this new community.
