Monday April 23, 2012 our little boy celebrated turning 2! He thankfully will acknowledge that his name is _____ but he also still likes to refer to himself as Boy!
Our son is obsessed with basketballs, footballs, baseballs, soccer balls, ... He loves playing with a basketball hoop at daycare and he was super excited to see that he also has his own.
Instead of a cake this year, I made cake pops that look like basketballs. They were fun to make and D. certainly enjoyed them!
We were fortunate enough to see Andy's parents last weekend in Iowa where we celebrated D's birthday. His parents gave D. a bat and ball. (so far nothing is broken!) My parents came to us this past weekend so they could also see A.'s dance recital (see future post).
Sometimes D. likes to dribble before making a basket. By dribbling I mean that he holds onto the ball as he hits it against the floor a few times!
D.,
The last two years have been an incredible experience! It has been a joy watching you grow, develop, and seeing your personality begin to shine through. I enjoy seeing you and your sissy (hee-hee) play. Your giggle and smiles brighten my day and bring cheer to the whole house. Your words are starting to increase- I am beginning to understand what you want- and am impressed with your two or three word combinations! You are awesome with technology. You know more about Daddy's iPad (baabaa) then I do! I still can't believe that you have called Grandma on facetime by yourself! Daddy thinks you will wrestle some day- you certainly are talented in pinning so we will see what you choose. D., I hope you live a long, healthy life to give you the opportunity to help others and brighten others' days. You are an incredible kid and I am thankful that God has formed you and given me the role as your Mommy. Thank you for your loving kisses and squeezes. I love you, Boy. ~Mommy
