Silver Birch Jan 6-8

We went to Silver Birch Ranch with Daddy and the big kids!!!

Usually we have stayed where the bus drivers have rooms.  This year the three of us were given our own cabin.  It was a relief knowing if D. cried or if they woke up at 6am, we wouldnt disturb anyone!  We brought the packNplay for D- and A. had fun sleeping in the top bunk!!

 A. was able to go tubing with Daddy twice and once in a train with Mommy.
 D. really thought he was going to go down the big hill too...  this hill is TOO big and too fast!

Our last night the kids and I hung out in the canteen in our pjs while Daddy waited for some of the big kids to arrive from the scavenger hunt.
The first time A. and I went to Silver Birch she was 2.5.  Then we went when she was 3.5.  Last winter D. was too young.  I was nervous that I was in over my head bringing them.  Obviously these weekend retreats are very intense and a lot of work for Andy.  He has many adult chaperones but he is still the one everyone goes to with questions.  Again this year Andy had a praise band (4 college kids and an adult).  They had 3 worship sessions with messages, games, and singing.  The kids and I were able to go to some of them- but their bedtime can only be stretched so far.  I was super proud of our kids (5.5 and 20 months).  We napped during free time, spent time reading books and playing chutes and ladders.  It was a great weekend filled with many hugs with Daddy and time to hang out with the big kids.  D. thought riding a school bus for 3 hours each way was awesome! He loved not having a seatbelt!  Its great spending time together and seeing the product of all the hours of work Andy puts into his job and these retreats.
