Fall in Kohler

When the leaves start turning and homecoming festivities are in full swing, then I know it is finally fall. Last weekend I and the kids went to a pumpkin farm. We were dressed with winter coats and stocking caps- and it rained on us on the hayride. This weekend we had 80 degree October weather and A. even wore shorts and a short-sleeved shirt! This weekend we went to Kohler (yep= Kohler is where they make all the Kohler bathroom/kitchen fixtures, toilets... it's a town and a company). We had never been to their Harvest Days and felt it was about time. They had multiple stops using a hayride (corn maze, hay fort, pumpkin patch, shops, and we also found a cute pond with a walking trail).

we live on a property with no mature trees. It becomes quite obvious when A. has to pick up leaves that she finds. She also still enjoys picking flowers to give to Mom.

The corn maze- and there were actually choices- but we found our way out!

She loved the hay fort- She could climb through it and climb on it. She also spent some time jumping from one bale to the next. I am sure next fall she will be able to step over them but for now it was pretty intense.

Afterwards we went to dinner using a gift card from the church for Pastor Appreciation Month. Little D. now has 2 teeth coming in (bottom front) so he was fussier than usual. We got home, relaxed a bit, and then I went to the homecoming dance as a chaperone. Though to most I act like I don't want to be there- in reality I am inwardly smiling that the kids are having fun (while being safe). Now that I have been at this school four years, I saw many of these kids as freshmen who are now seniors. I am thrilled to see a few kids who I used to think were friendless now being surrounded by a group of kids laughing and hanging out. My job was mostly to watch out for dancing that was questionable. We only allow dancing where kids actually face eachother. So- today I am exhausted but ready for another full, busy week of school.

What's up with teens, always wanting to dance inappropriately!?!?!

I enjoyed the pictures. I can't believe how big D is!
