Driving with Asthma

Big sis was so excited to see him driving "her" car. (Have no fear- I did not allow my 4 year old to push my four month old!)
What a facial expression!

Tomorrow D. will be 5 months old! We "celebrated" by visiting Children's Hospital. Since early August he has been wheezy and struggling with breathing. We had doctor appointments three weeks in a row- each one showing that nothing was improving. We tried multiple antibiotics, experienced a nebulizer, had an X-Ray, yet nothing changed. Thankfully our pediatrician suggested a visit with a pulmonary specialist about an hour away. We were able to get an appointment a week away and thankfully both Andy and I were able to go. The specialist was wonderful and after a new XRay, hearing the family history and his symptoms, she declared it all points to asthma. It surprises me that he is so young and having to suffer with this already. He will now take his meds by an inhaler/spacer.

He continues to be our little boy who is full of smiles and laughter. He eats well, sleeps well, and cries rarely. We are thankful for a diagnosis and hope that eventually he will "out-grow" the asthma. Until then we will continue to do the best we can with it.

I'm so thankful you were able to catch and diagnose early. I also have asthma but it wasn't discovered until the 1st grade and I had to go to the ER and have a hospital stay. No fun! I am afraid Brayden might go down this road as well. Thankful for medicine!!

Sorry to hear your sweet little guy has asthma. It sounds like he is a good sport about it, though! :) I enjoyed the pictures. I can't get over how similar your two cute kids look! :)
